HUDGENS SETS LOW QUALIFIER FOR 2ND CONSECUTIVE FAST 33 RACE
Crossroads Dragway was back in full action this weekend with a full slate of racing on deck. Gil Hudgens, Clinton, IN set the low qualifier again with an ET of 2.832 at a speed of 126.53 mph at the 330'. Sam Smith of Terre Haute, IN was the winner over Kenny Carson of Brownsburg, IN in the Fast 33 @ the 330' with Jake Orman, Terre Haute, IN and Nick Wallace of Edinburgh, IN the semi-finalists.
PJ Davenport, Terre Haute, IN was the winner in Pro Class over Harry Eversole also of Terre Haute, IN. Ironically, Davenport once owned the car that Eversole was racing. Semi-finalists er Thad Mann of Terre Haute, IN and Chad Eaton of Paris, IL.
Super Pro Class winner was Eric Bonewell of Terre Haute, IN over Josh Rogers of Reelsville, IN. Randy Protz of Vandalia, IL was the semi-finalist.
Sportsman Class winner was Wayne Nelson of Spencer, IN over Kenny James of Terre Haute, IN. Semi-finalists were Kody Frederick and Bill Lewis, both of Terre Haute, IN.
In High School Class defending 2016 High School Champion Jacob Youngblood, Rosedale, IN was the winner over Caleb Ramsey of Terre Haute, IN.
Friday Night's PINK Ladies Series winner was Sara Cassady of Mattoon, IL over Denise Ramsey of Terre Haute, IN. Denise Joslin also of Terre Haute, IN was the semi-finalist.
There will be no racing at Crossroads Dragway this weekend as the Top 38 racers in Pro, Super Pro and Sportsman, along with 2 High School competitors travel to Lucas Oil Raceway in Clermont, IN to participate in the NHRA Division 3 ET Finals September 14 - 17. Racing will resume on Friday, September 22nd with Friday Fun Night and Saturday, September 23rd ET Points racing for Pro, Super Pro, Sportsman, High School and Juniors.
