With three events complete thus far in the 2018 race season, Fox Boyz Racing and the Kinross Speedpark shift gears to a fun-filled Sunday afternoon this weekend at the track.
Sunday, July 22 the local stock car racing facility presents it’s 2nd Annual “Halloween at the 1/4 Mile” event.
On the track the afternoon will feature racing in three divisions of cars; Modifieds, ABC Stock Cars and Four Cylinders.
While off the track, the youngest fans are encouraged to head down to the pit area following the afternoons events to “Trick or Treat” from their favorite drivers and volunteers.
Last year’s event was a tremendous success and led to many smiling faces
Time trials are set for 1 PM with racing action to follow at 3 PM.
Main grandstand gates open at 1 PM with admission prices set at $10 for Adults, $7 for Seniors (62+) and Students (12-17) while Kids 11 & Under are always FREE.
The day’s 50/50 draw will support Chippewa Luce Mackinac Community Action Agency.
Buddy Gray IV (#24JR, Petoskey MI) holds a slim two-point advantage over Mark Laakso (#84, Echo Bay ON) for the Modified Division points lead while Leila Uhlman (#11, Sault Ste. Marie ON) is in very close proximity just three points from your leader.
The top two in the ABC Stock Cars A-Division have accounted for all of the summer’s feature victories leading to Grant Howard (#19, Petoskey MI) sitting in the top spot while Brandon Carson (#54, Petoskey MI) and Keenan Spurway (#0, Sault Ste. Marie ON) round out the top three separated by just three points.
Gerald Archer (#88, Goulias River ON) has ran consistently into the ABC Stock Car B-Division points lead. The veteran pilot has the last two year’s track champions in his rearview mirror as Buddy Palahnuk (#26B, Goulias River ON) and Larry Young Sr. (#25, Sault Ste. Marie, MI) second and third respectively.
Defending track champion Brent Fewchuk (#3, Sault Ste. Marie ON) has picked up six checkered flags thus far in 2018 while having a three point lead in the Four Cylinder Division.
Rebecca Fewchuk (#99, Sault Ste. Marie ON) and Gillian Howard (#4, Petoskey MI) finish off the podium positions.
To get to Kinross, take exit 378 off the I-75 and following the signs to the Chippewa County Fairgrounds.
