Kinross, Michigan

The month of August kicks off at the Kinross Speedpark with another “Sunday Showdown” this coming weekend. It’ll mark the local racing facilities fifth event of the 2018 season - a year that thus far has seen ninety-seven (97) different competitors vie for the checkered flag.

Sunday, August 5th, the 1/4 mile asphalt oval roars back to life with a full show of Modifieds, ABC Stock Cars and Four Cylinders cars proudly presented by Auto Value / Rudyard Auto Sales.

Time trials are set for 1 PM with racing action to follow at 3 PM.

Main grandstand gates open at 1 PM with

admission prices set at $10 for Adults (18+), $7 for Seniors (62+) and Students (12-17) while Kids 11 & Under are always FREE.

The day’s 50/50 draw will support the Community Dispute Resolution Center.

Sault Ste. Marie, ON pilot LEILA UHLMAN (#11) leads the track’s premiere division’s point standings, holding a three point lead in the Modified Division over MARK LAAKSO (#84, Echo Bay ON).

Kinross, Michigan’s DEAN EGGART (#88) sits comfortably in the third place position.

GRANT HOWARD (#19) has carried the checkered flag five times this summer resulting in a nine-point lead over fellow Petoskey, MI native - BRANDON CARSON (#54) in the ABC Stock Cars A-Division.

KEENAN SPURWAY (#0, Sault Ste. Marie ON) sits in third position.

The ABC Stock Cars B-Division’s defending track champion, BUDDY PALAHNUK (#26B, Goulais River ON) has used consistency to place himself in first in the division while leading JON DIODATI (#52, Sault Ste Marie ON) and LARRY YOUNG SR. (#25, Sault Ste. Marie MI).

While girl power flexes their muscles in the Four Cylinder Division holding down two of the top three positions.

REBECCA FEWCHUK (#99, Sault Ste. Marie ON) has a very comfortable lead in the division’s standings over BRENT FEWCHUK (#3, Sault Ste. Marie ON) and GILLIAN HOWARD (#4, Petoskey MI).

To get to Kinross, take exit 378 off the I-75 and follow the signs to the Chippewa County Fairgrounds.
