This year’s event, marks the 13th Anniversary of the prestigious event, and is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 7 through Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018 at the Kinross Speedpark (Chippewa County Fairgrounds) in Kinross, Michigan.
And while the weekend event provides a memorable experience for the thousands of attendees, it is the shear meaning of the event that supersedes all else for the racers, fans and sponsors alike.
For all of us involved in the Speedpark, we are extremely honored to hold this season finale event in memory of Randy Dewitt (Rudyard, MI) and Ted Brooks (Sault Ste. Marie, ON).
Both of these gentlemen were well-respected businessmen, family members and ambassadors to the sport of auto racing in the Twin Sault Area's, but importantly, at the Kinross Speedpark.
Randy was one of the founding members of the Kinross Speedpark under the umbrella of New Era Motorsports, a competitor at the facility in the Late Model and Modified division and local businessmen with his air service - Midwest Air Ted was the President of Soo, Ontario courier business Eazy Express, a local political advocate and co-owner of the Eazy Racing team which had five separate cars in the Late Model and Modified Division.
Together, with the blessing and involvement of both families, we put together this weekend dedicated to the racers.
