With the grounds of Wayne County Speedway already soft from the weeks earlier rains and predicted storms for the late afternoon into early evening that came true, the races were cancelled for the fifth time this season at ‘Orrville’s Historic Oval’ on Saturday, June 1.
This Saturday night, June 8th will see a lot of points on the line as all four class’ will be racing for double points in the O’Reilly Auto Parts ‘Race to the Championship’ points battle. For the Pine Tree Towing & Recovery Sprints, it will be the last race for them before Ohio Sprint Speed week rolls in for two shows on Monday, June 17th and the Finale on Saturday, June 22nd for the $10,000 to win feature.
The Malcuit Tavern Super Late Models also will be after the double points and will be racing for the Attica Raceway Park/ Wayne County Speedway Series points in the process. The ARP/WCS Series will wrap up on Friday, July 26th at Attica Raceway Park and Saturday, July 27th at Wayne County Speedway.
For the McKenzie Concrete Super Stocks and the JOYRIDE Transportation Mini Stocks it will double points for them. Plus the Stake’s Shortstop ‘Summer Series’ for the Super Stocks and the NewFast Motorsports ‘Summer Series’ for the Mini Stocks will begin. The ‘Summer Series’ is a four race series that has a separate point fund for the ‘Summer Series’ and the top three drivers in the points at the end of the season will get bonus money. The other ‘Summer Series’ races are scheduled for July 6th, July 20th and September 21st.
Saturday Night will also be Dollar Dog night.
