For the third time this season, and the final time in the month of June, local stock car racing will take to the Kinross Speedpark (Kinross, Michigan) this Saturday Night.
Saturday, June 29, the cars and stars of the quarter-mile asphalt oval take to the track for ‘Denny’s Duel’ presented by Denny’s Auto Body and Sales of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
The evening will include a Four Cylinder Division Special along with a full show of Modifieds and ABC Stock Cars.
Time trials begin at 4 PM, with the green flag dropping on the exciting side-by-side racing action at 6 PM.
The nights 50/50 draw will benefit Speaks Education.
Entering this week’s action the track’s feature winners thus far, sit first and second in the Modified Division.
Buddy Gray IV (Petoskey, MI) holds a slim one-point lead over two-time Modified Track Champion, Tim Aho (Sault Ste. Marie, MI)
Steve Saddison (Alanson, MI) caps off the top three.
2016 Track Champion Keenan Spurway enters with a six-point lead over fellow Soo, Ontario competitor John Carter in the ABC Stock Car A-Division.
Close behind is track ambassador and veteran, Dennis Aho (Sault Ste. Marie, MI) in third.
Pickford, MI pilot Todd Nyberg sits with a single point cushion over two-time, defending track champion Buddy Palahnuk (Goulais River, ON) in the ABC Stock Car B-Division, while Patrick Goodwin (Pellston, MI) is third.
Just four points separate a growing Four Cylinder Division’s top three competitors.
Rob Wagner’s (Prince Township, ON) 118 points is one better than Ken Fewchuk (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) while Harbor Springs, MI second-generation driver John Wieman holds 114 points to date.
Grandstand admission is family-friendly at just $10 USD / $12 CDN for Adults (18+), $7 USD / $9 CDN for Seniors (60+) and Students (12-17) while Kids 11 & Under are always FREE.
Kinross Speedpark is conveniently located at the picturesque Chippewa County Fairgrounds, and can be found by taking Exit 378 and following the signs.
