With help from Contingency Connection’s Racer Rewards program, Eric Snow of Snow Family Racing is looking forward to a great start to the 2021 season.
Based out of Farr West, Utah, Eric has a family centered approach to racing and finding adventure along the way with his wife and 4 kids. He races primarily at Firebird Raceway in Boise, Idaho and Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) in Las Vegas, Nevada. He races the bigger weekend events such as the Halloween Classic at Firebird Raceway and Mopars and Muscle Cars at the Strip as LVMS.
His racing highlights include more than 20 event wins including one Wally and the 2018 season championship for the Sportsman Class at the late Rocky Mountain Raceways in West Valley Utah.
His car, a 1982 El Camino, started as his daily driver when he was 16. The car slowly transformed into its current form running its best time of 12.40 @ 107 mph with its pump gas 383" SBC.
What helps turn those times are the Scat rotating assembly and the Air Flow Research Cylinder heads being fed by a 750 CFM annular booster Demon carburetor through an Edelbrock intake manifold. Tuning is handled with supplies from Holley Performance. Fueling is handled through a Mallory Fuel Pump.
Keeping the oil where it should be is a Champ Pans oil pan and Melling M55HV oil pump combo. Spark comes from a complete MSD Ignition with a 6al box, distributor, coil and plug wires. Power is run through a Hughes Performance torque convertor rated at a 4000 RPM stall speed in the TH350 with a Hughes deep trans pan.
Out back, the rear end houses a 4.10 Richmond gear set in the original 7.5" 10 bolt rear and power is put to the ground on Hoosier 29X11 slicks. Exhaust is handled through a set of Hooker Headers. Various fittings and hose come from both Earls and Russel keep the fluids running where they need to go.
The car keeps a sensible interior with Procar Seats by Scat and the vitals are monitored through AutoMeter gauges. Safety gear includes a helmet from Racequip.
